A very good, large heavy George III silver soup ladle in
hourglass pattern.
This is an attractive design,
similar
to Kings, but with a distinctive hourglass device below
the shell. It originated in eighteenth century French
flatware.
The ladle is engraved with a small
contemporary lion
rampant crest.
