A good late Victorian four-piece silver tea and coffee
service, comprising teapot, coffee pot, sugar bowl and
cream jug.
Each piece is oblong and half-fluted
with a fine gadroon border ('Queen Anne style'), and the
sugar bowl and cream jug are gilded inside.
The
handles and finials of the teapot and coffee pot are made
of ebonised wood.
This popular design has been
made since the 1820s, and is the epitome of the
classic 'English look'.
