A very attractive antique Portuguese silver toothpick
holder, in the form of a mythical young angel standing on a
square pedestal base. He is wearing a crown of feathers,
and is holding a ball in one hand and a large leaf in the
other - each of which is pierced to hold the toothpicks.
Made c1850 in Porto, Portugal.
