An attractive oval George III silver sugar basket.
The body is lobed, with very delicate bands of
brightcut engraving that was so popular at the time.
It has a swing handle, and stands on a shaped
pedestal base, which also is engraved in the brightcut
style.
It is engraved with a small contemporary
crest on one side of the body.
Originally, this
basket was made for
sugar, but these days, it can be used for chocolates,
candies or cookies!
