A good, pretty Victorian silver sugar basket.
The
shaped oval body is richly embossed with scrolls, leaves
and fruit. The two blank cartouches are surrounded with
scrolls.
It has a simple swing handle with thread
decoration, and stands on a shaped oval pedestal base.
Although this was originally made as a sugar
basket, today it can be used for chocolates, small cookies
and candies.
Made in 1875 by Martin & Hall.
