A very pretty Victorian silver sugar basket.

The shaped oval body is richly embossed with scrolls, leaves and fruit. The two blank cartouches are surrounded with scrolls.

It has a simple swing handle with thread decoration, and stands on a shaped oval pedestal base.

Although this was originally made as a sugar basket, today it can be used to hold chocolates, small cookies, candies or nuts and raisins. It would make a lovely gify.

This attractive Victorian silver sugar basket was made in 1875 by Martin, Hall & Co.
