An attractive Victorian silver cream jug.
The body
is bellied, and embossed with scrolls, leaves and flowers.
One cartouche is blank -- the other is engraved
with a small contemporary crest.
It has a scroll
handle, and stands on a pedestal
base with a pie-crust border.
The inside is gilded
(gold-washed).
Made in 1890 by Charles Stuart
Harris of London - a famous silversmith of the late
Victorian period.
