A very attractive suite of two large and two medium height
late Victorian / Edwardian silver
candlesticks, with square
bases and gadroon-mounted borders, decorated with swags
and
medallions. They have detachable nozzles (sconces), and
are
in very
good condition.

These are beautiful
reproductions of a design from the 1790s, based on the
style of the neoclassical English architect Robert Adam.
He reintroduced Graeco-Roman features to contemporary
silverware, including swags, medallions and columns.

four, or as two separate pairs [see 20C131 and 20C132].
