A lovely oval George III silver teapot, in a typical style of the period.

The plain body is beautifully decorated with two friezes of brightcut engraved leaves and flowers, and two leaf cartouches (one of which is engraved with a contemporary crest).

The lid is similarly engraved with two friezes of leaves, and it opens on a delightful flush hinge.

It has a polished wooden handle and finial, and is a very good size.

This elegant oval George III silver teapot was made in 1799 by Lewis Pantin III of London.
Length (handle - spout): 11 3/4 inches (30 cm).
Height to top of finial: 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm)
