So what's so special about this crystal?
Well, the quality is exceptional, because each piece is made entirely by hand. It's much better and heavier than the cheaper machine-made glassware you can find in the stores. And it's still produced for us by Tudor Crystal in one of the few remaining glassworks here in England. Their factory has been producing glass since 1788, and we are delighted to be London's major stockist of their unrivalled range of the highest quality new crystal glassware.
Which designs can you produce?
We have a wide variety from the traditional look of Holbein and Burleigh to the more contemporary feel of Isabella and Margaret. Each design has a comprehensive range of stemware, tumblers, decanters and jugs. Scroll down to the bottom of this page to see all the different designs we can make.
How is this crystal made?
Glass is made by melting together several minerals at very high temperatures. Silica in the form of sand is the main component, and this is combined with soda ash and melted in a special furnace at 1450°C. Our lead crystal contains 30% lead oxide, which gives it a special sparkle and softens the surface, allowing for cutting and engraving.
So how much does it cost?
Well, as each piece is made by hand, it is not a fast process, as you are paying for the craftsmen's time as well as the crystal. Each design is priced separately - click on a photograph below for a full breakdown. As a guide, a service for twelve people each with various wine glasses, goblets, champagne glasses as well as a decanter will cost in the region of £2000 - £3000 (US $3200 - $4800).
If I ordered a service, how quickly could I get it?
As everything is made to order, it should take us about 4 - 6 weeks to make a typical service.
What if I don't want a service for twelve? Maybe I just want six of everything, or even less?
Yes, we can make any quantity of any piece. The prices quoted on this website are for dozens. Please contact us for any smaller orders, and we will quote accordingly.
Finally, what if I don't like any of your designs, and I want to create one exclusively for myself?
Again, no problem. Come to us with a design, we'll make a new set of moulds, and we can then create a service in your own exclusive pattern. This is particularly appropriate for crystal on superyachts and megaychts.
