*Irish* - Rare Antique Limerick Plain Silver Tablespoon

A very rare antique Limerick silver tablespoon.

The handle is completely plain, in the Old Irish point pattern. It turns down at the end.

It has been made from a good gauge of silver, and the initials S P are engraved on the handle. On the back there is some more engraving which reads either JAN or IAN and a year, possibly 1783.

This is a lovely and very special spoon. It is stamped on the back of the handle with the maker's mark GM and STERLING. Both are rubbed but legible. A close-up photograph of the hallmarks can be emailed on request.

This very rare antique Limerick silver tablespoon was made c1760 by George Moore.
