*Irish* - Rare Pair of Antique Limerick Brightcut Silver Tablespoons

A rare pair of antique Limerick silver tablespoons.

The are in the Old Irish Point pattern, and the ends of the handles turn down. They are beautifully engraved with traditional brightcut decoration with a star at each top. A crest of a stag's head is engraved inside each cartouche.

On the backs, on the heel of each handle, the initial R is engraved.

This is an excellent pair of tablespoons -- they are a good length and made from a good gauge of silver. The backs of the handles are both very clearly stamped twice with the maker's mark P.C, with the very distinctive Ster stamp in script between them. A separate close-up picture of the silver hallmarks can be emailed on request.

This very rare pair of antique Limerick silver tablespoons was made c1790 by Patrick Connell.
