*Irish* - Rare Pair of Antique Limerick Silver Tablespoons

A very rare pair of antique Limerick silver tablespoons.

They are in the highly sought-after Hanoverian pattern, with a subtle ridge on the top of each handle; and the ends of the handles turn up. Unusually, they have not been engraved with a crest or monogram.

This is a marvellous pair of extremely rare Limerick spoons. There is no rat tail on the backs of the bowls; just a plain single drop. Each is stamped on the back with the highly recognisable maker's mark I Lion Rampant I and STERLING. Both maker's marks are rubbed but legible even without a glass. The STERLING marks are legible. A separate photograph of the silver hallmarks can be emailed on request.

This lovely pair of antique Limerick silver tablespoons were made c1740 by Joseph Johns.
