*Irish* - Set of 6 Antique Brightcut Silver Tablespoons

A lovely set of six antique Irish silver tablespoons.

They are engraved with typical brightcut decoration, with a frieze around the sides of the handles and a bow at each top. There is a contemporary crest of a lion rampant holding a large diamond engraved inside each cartouche. The backs of the handles are stamped with the hallmarks; otherwise they are plain.

This is a very good set, and the brightcut engraving is in excellent condition -- not rubbed in any way. The hallmarks on the back are clearly stamped; one spoon is lacking a maker's mark.

This excellent set of six Irish antique brightcut silver tablespoons was made in 1781 by Michael Keating of Dublin.
