Pair of Huge Silver Sauceboats

A pair of huge silver sauceboats.

The bodies are plain and bellied, with a gadroon mount. Each stands on three large cast shell feet. They each have a leaf and scroll handle.

These sauceboats are simply enormous -- each one must be able to hold a pint. They are a wonderful size and weight. They are clearly hallmarked under each base by one of England's leading silversmiths of the period. Because they look average size in the main picture, I have included an extra picture showing one from above; I hope this illustrates their sheer size.

This marvellous pair of silver sauceboats was made in 1964 by Edward Barnard & Sons of London.
