Silver Collapsible Beaker 1916 - Recently Sold

A marvellous silver collapsible beaker.

A really good example, consisting of six rings. Unusually, the lower ring is fixed to a wide round silver base (when open or closed), and there is a separate silver lid that clicks into the base when closed.

Made in 1916 in Birmingham. Unusually, the maker was the Gorham Manufacturing Company of Providence, Rhode Island, USA. It had silver manufacturing workshops in Birmingham and London, and this piece has a full set of Birmingham silver hallmarks.

This is a wonderful silver collapsible beaker, especially with the fixed base and detachable lid. Could we find something similar for you? Email us now.

  • Height when fully open: 2 7/8 inches (7.3 cm)
  • Diameter of silver lid: 2 7/8 inches (7.3 cm)
