Pair of George III Silver Wine Coasters - Recently Sold
A fine pair of George III silver wine coasters.
They are round with fluted bodies and gadroon mounts. They have the traditional turned wood bases. In each centre is a round silver disc engraved with a contemporary family crest.
Made in 1819 by Thomas & John Settle of Sheffield.
This is a very good pair of silver wine coasters, so-called because they are fitted with baize underneath so that the wine bottles can be slid ('coasted') from person to person around the table. Could we find you a similar pair for your table? Email us now. We ship antique silver worldwide.
- Diameter: 6 inches (15 cm)
