George III Fiddle Pattern Fig-Shaped Bowl Silver Caddy Spoon 1815
A very good George III silver caddy spoon.
The handle is in the very popular Fiddle pattern, and it is engraved at the end with a contemporary monogram. The bowl is fig-shaped and totally plain.
This is a very attractive caddy spoon, with the handle in the classic Fiddle pattern (this design had been introduced to England from around 1800 and was based on a French pattern). The fig-shaped bowl is very striking. The silver hallmarks are stamped on the back of the handle.
This fine George III silver caddy spoon was made in 1815 by William Pugh of Birmingham.
