George III Silver Cream Jug 1784

A good George III silver cream jug.

It is plain, oval and 'helmet-shaped', with an applied bead mount at the top. It stands on a plain square base, and has a plain loop handle. Under the spout, it is engraved with a contemporary monogram, just below the silver hallmarks.

This is a fine cream jug, typical of its period. It would make a lovely small gift, especially because its rather plain design would go very well with today's minimalistic tastes.

This attractive George III silver cream jug was made in 1784 by John Lambe of London.
