The stand is oblong with cut corners and a fine gadroon border.
The snuffer was made in 1789 by Walter Brind of London.
The stand was made in 1804 by Charles Fox of London.
When pulled outwards, the snuffer box opens to 'catch' the flame of the candle ... and when closed, it is extinguished. This is a very attractive and high quality silver snuffer and silver stand. Could we find one for you? Email us now. We ship antique English silver worldwide.
