*Irish* - Pair of Antique Plain Silver Tablespoons

A very good pair of antique Irish silver tablespoons.

They are completely plain, in the popular Old Irish pattern. The ends of the handles turn down. They are each engraved with the crest of an eagle.

This is an excellent pair of tablespoons. They have been made in a very heavy gauge of silver, and they feel heavy in the hand. The bowls have a couple of dents, but the silver is so thick they have not been weakened in any way. The hallmarks are well-struck; on one, the maker's mark is a little rubbed. A separate picture of the silver hallmarks can be emailed on request.

This attractive pair of antique plain Irish silver tablespoons was made in 1771 by John Craig of Dublin.
