Late Victorian Shaped Oblong Silver Inkstand

A very good late Victorian silver inkstand.

It is shaped oblong and has a wavy border mounted with a row of beads. The inkstand stands on four small claw feet, and there are two long recesses to hold pens.

The two cut glass bottles have silver mounts, with hinged lids. Both the glass and the silver are in very good condition.

This would make a great gift, especially if it is destined to stand on a wooden or leather desk. It brings elegance to any room and evokes memories of a golden age.

This late Victorian silver inkstand was made in 1899 by James Deakin & Sons.
