Pair of George IV Small Silver Wine Coasters

A beautiful pair of George IV small silver wine coasters.

They are round with fluted sides. They have very attractive gadroon, scroll and shell mounts around the top. The bases are original turned wood (dark brown), each with a small silver disc in the centre. The discs are engraved with a contemporary crest.

This is a marvellous pair of Georgian silver wine coasters. Please note that they are slightly smaller than usual and are therefore suitable for regular size bottles or decanters.  They would not be suitable for magnums. [see the dimensions on the left]. The silver hallmarks are stamped on the lower rims and they are exceptionally clear for coasters from this period.

This lovely pair of George IV small silver wine coasters was made in 1824 by Samuel Haines of Birmingham.
