Plain Silver Bowl with Thread Border

A delightful plain silver bowl.

It is round, with a simple border composed of five threads. It stands on a plain pedestal base, with similar thread decoration.

This is a very good bowl, totally plain apart from the thread mounts. It could be used as a small fruitbowl. This would certainly make a lovely gift, especially for somebody who doesn't like decorative pieces! The maker's mark is rubbed but legible.

This exquisite plain silver bowl was made in 1919 by Reid and Sons of London -- the family actually came from several generations of top silversmiths in Newcastle.
