Round Silver Sugar Basket

A lovely round silver sugar basket.

It consists of a plain round egg-shaped bowl which is decorated with two pierced friezes around the top, and a thread mount. It stands on a plain pedestal base. It has a heavy swing handle with thread decoration. It has a blue glass liner.

This is a very good reproduction of a Georgian sugar basket, made to an extremely high standard. Although originally made for silver, today it would be perfect for small cookies, sweets or chocolates.

This fine silver sugar basket was made in 1930 by Ellis Greenberg of London.
