Silver Model of Javelin Missiles On A Lightweight Multiple Launcher
This handmade sterling silver scale model, entitled 'A Javelin Detachment At War', was presented to a Royal Artillery Regiment in the British Army in 1991. It commemorated their service in the First Gulf War of 1990/1.
The Javelin missiles are launched from a Lightweight Multiple Launcher [LML], and three soldiers are depicted on the battlefield. One is operating the Launcher, one is watching the target through binoculars and the third is taking a replacement missile out of its casing.
The silver figures are 8 inches (20.5 cm) high.
We can make any piece of military hardware to any scale in sterling silver. All we need are plans and photographs.
