Silver Model of the Osnabruck 'Rathaus'
This was one of our most spectacular architectural scale models.
We were asked to make a very large sterling silver 360° model of the 'Rathaus' [Town Hall] in Osnabruck, Germany to commemorate the departure of the British Army's garrison in the town -- an association which stretched back to the end of the Second World War.
The building is distinguished by the nine individual statuettes of various Emperors along the front face, with the central figure of Charlemagne above the main entrance. Each statuette was specially and separately handmade.
The bricks on the walls and the tiles on the roof were all painstakingly hand-engraved. There is also a weather vane at either end of the roof. It all stands on a hand-hammered silver 'cobblestone' base.
The silver model is 18 inches wide [46 cm] x 10 inches deep [25.5 cm] x 18 inches high [46 cm].
We can make any building to any scale in sterling silver. The results are extraordinary.
All our models are made entirely by hand, here in England, by the finest craftsmen in the world -- in sterling silver. We only make them specially to order.
