Tall Silver and Glass Claret Jug

A very elegant tall silver and glass claret jug.

The glass body is round and tapers upwards. It is richly cut with hob-nail decoration, with a traditional star cut into the base.  The silver handle, mount and hinged lid are all totally plain, and it has a small thumbpiece at the top.

This is a wonderful jug, with the glass and silver in excellent condition, which would blend naturally in contemporary plain surroundings. It would look lovely on a dining-room table.

This fine tall silver and glass claret jug was made in 1925 by Walker and Hall.
