Victorian Large Silver Jug

A beautiful Victorian large silver jug.

It is plain, round and bellied and chased with leaves, with a delightful 'sparrow beak' spout. It has a looped handle with thread decoration and a leaf mount.

The jug is gilded (gold-washed) inside.

This is a lovely piece of Victorian silver. The jug is a very good size, and it could be used for beer, lemonade or even water. It is an excellent weight and feels very heavy in the hand.

This fine Victorian large silver jug was made in 1887 by Aldwinckle and Slater of London.
