Victorian Silver Mug 1841

An unusual Victorian silver mug.

The body is round and heavily chased with scrolls, leaves and flowers. It stands on four scroll feet. It has a fantastic scroll handle with applied twisted leaves and a large flower at the top.  The beaker is gilded inside.

This is a wonderful mug, made in a very heavy gauge of silver by a celebrated partnership.

This fascinating Victorian silver mug was made in 1841 by Samuel Hayne and Dudley Cater of London.
