William IV Fiddle Pattern Silver Caddy Spoon 1833
A very good William IV silver caddy spoon.
The fiddle pattern handle is totally plain. It has an oval bowl, which is beautifully engraved with leaves and a flower inside a double border.
This is a very pretty piece -- the handle is in the celebrated fiddle pattern which had become very popular by the 1830s. No doubt it was made to go with a service of silver flatware in the same design. The engraving on the bowl is very delicate and has a lovely effect.
This fine William IV silver caddy spoon was made in 1833 by Joseph Burtt of London.
